The son of former NFL quarterback John Kitna was arrested Wednesday on 5 prices of possession of kid pornography.
Jalen Kitna, 19, was a backup quarterback for the College of Florida Gators within the 2022 season.
The teenager shared two pictures of kid pornography on Discord and three extra pictures on his cellphone, the Gainesville Police Division stated in a Fb put up.
Police stated they acquired a tip about baby pornography in a Discord chat and traced the pictures to Kitna’s account.
Investigators questioned Kitna at his Gainesville condo on Wednesday and stated he admitted to sharing the pictures.
“Kitna reported that he realized he should not have shared the 2 pictures based mostly on the response of one other Discord person,” Gainesville police wrote.
Discord deactivated Kitna’s account earlier than the police intervened.
After cops questioned Kitna, they went by way of his cellphone and located three extra pictures of kid pornography, Gainesville police stated. He was arrested on two counts of distribution of kid pornography and three counts of possession of kid pornography.
“We’re shocked and saddened by the information of Jalen Kitna,” the Florida Division of Sports activities stated in an announcement. “Jalen has been suspended from the soccer program indefinitely.”
